Another year, another magical shoot day with some of Maine’s most inspiring young women! The 2025 Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant (MASP) Titleholder Nationals Headshot Photo Shoot was filled with sparkle, laughter, and those signature crown-worthy smiles that make this experience so unforgettable every year.

đź‘‘ A Decade of MASP Magic

It’s hard to believe it’s been over 10 years since I first became involved with MASP as the official pageant photographer for the program and signed on as a local pageant director. My journey started when I brought my daughter to compete—and immediately fell in love with the warm, welcoming energy of the pageant family. I’d been to many pageants before, but never one where people were literally lending out gowns just to help a fellow competitor shine. That moment—and the incredible sense of community—hooked me for life.

MASP doesn’t just crown queens. It cultivates confident, community-minded, kind-hearted leaders who support one another and give back. That’s a mission I’ve been proud to support every single year.

đź“· Behind the Lens: Capturing Confidence, One Crown at a Time

As the official photographer of the Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant, I get to witness some of the most heartwarming, empowering, and exciting moments—both on and off the stage. From welcome parties and rehearsal day antics to crowning moments and candid laughter between new friends, I strive to capture it all.

While I technically have the best seat in the house, right next to the videographer, the only downside is… I can’t scream and cheer like I want to! Still, watching each girl blossom—some who return year after year—is the true reward.

📸 Nationals Headshots Day = Pure Joy

Our Nationals Titleholder Headshot Day is truly something special. Once the competition has wrapped, we set aside time to capture the official portraits of each titleholder in their brand-new crown and sash. These photos are used in social media campaigns, program books, and pageant promotions throughout the year. We also work together to create beautiful national pageant headshots, which is SO important because it is any pageant judge’s first impression of the contestant, so we want them to absolutely sparkle!

But in recent years, we’ve made it even more meaningful.

Instead of a quick in-and-out photo session, we now spend a whole day with the girls—chatting, laughing, capturing creative shots, and really getting to know the young women behind the titles. It’s relaxed, fun, and one of my absolute favorite traditions.

đź’– Why It Means So Much

Every photo tells a story. Every crown represents more than just a title—it represents hard work, heart, and the promise of a year filled with service, sisterhood, and self-growth. And getting to be a small part of that journey? It fills my heart.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found a home in this organization. From snapping portraits to sponsoring and directing, MASP has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career and life.

To the 2026 titleholders: I can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year! Keep shining, keep serving, and keep being the amazing young women you are.

I feel so honored to be invited back to the program each year to work with people I love, hang out and have fun with girls I love, and do exactly what I love, watching these girls grow in to confident, resilient young women who chase their dreams and lift others up along the way. I will forever be grateful and continue to support this incredible program for as long as I can!
